What this site stores, where it stays, and who else handles your visit.

Last updated November 2, 2026.

The short version

  • You don't need an account, and the site never asks for your name or email address.
  • Your study progress stays in your browser on this device. It is never sent to the site's servers.
  • The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or social-media trackers.
  • The companies that host and protect the site see the technical details every website sees, such as your IP address.

What stays on your device

So you can close the tab and pick up where you left off, the site saves your work in your browser's own storage on this device:

  • practice sessions, mock exams and Readiness Checks, with your answers, flags and scores, and the testing window you picked
  • your flashcard progress, and any decks or cards you make
  • your results from the drills, hands-on labs and other practice tools
  • your study plan, which lessons you've read or opened last, and whether you've seen the site tour
  • two display settings: light or dark theme, and which exam your progress page shows

None of this is sent to the site's servers, and it can only be read in your own browser. It doesn't sync between devices or browsers.

How to delete it

  • Clear this site's data for grumblelab.com in your browser's settings (usually under "site data" or "cookies and site data"). That permanently erases your progress on this device. There's no other copy, so it can't be restored.
  • In a private or incognito window, your browser erases it when you close the window.

Cookies and trackers

  • The site itself sets no cookies, and it has no analytics, advertising or social-media trackers.
  • Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks, may set its own security cookie (such as cf_clearance) if it needs to check that a visitor is a person and not a bot. It's used only for that check. See Cloudflare's cookie list.

Who else handles your visit

Like most websites, this one runs on other companies' servers:

  • Vercel hosts the site. Its servers see technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for, and may keep them in logs. See Vercel's privacy notice.
  • Cloudflare sits in front of the site to deliver it quickly and block attacks, and sees the same technical details. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The site's own code doesn't send anything about you to anyone else. Sites linked from this one have their own privacy policies.

Children

This site is for adults preparing for professional certification exams. It isn't meant for children under 13, and it doesn't collect personal information from them.

Do Not Track

The site doesn't track you across other websites, so it behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Changes to this page

If what the site stores, or who handles your visit, ever changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and the date at the top will change with it.
